ACARE General Assembly confirms strong cross-sector support and readiness to deliver Europe’s aviation vision
The Advisory Council for Aviation Research and Innovation in Europe (ACARE) General Assembly convened over 50 participants from 13 countries from every part of the European aviation ecosystem and with the participation of European Commission DG RTD, AZEA and Clean Aviation and SESAR Joint Undertakings. They reaffirmed ACARE’s unique role as a unifying platform for industry, research, universities, Member States, airlines, airports, and emerging innovators.
This broad stakeholder commitment underpins ACARE’s clear mission: to develop and promote a shared European vision for aviation that ensures safety, sustainability, competitiveness, and long-term technological leadership.
Members agreed on ACARE’s updated governance structure and organisational setup. This confirms that ACARE is fully equipped and ready to deliver on its strategy. Next step will be issuing a position paper to provide a technical strategy in relation with the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), Horizon Europe (HE), and European Competitiveness Fund (ECF) proposals.
These decisions mark a significant step forward in reinforcing ACARE’s capacity to shape Europe’s aviation R&I agenda at a crucial moment for the sector.

Later that day, the European Commission hosted a dedicated ACARE stakeholder workshop. They discussed Europe’s future aviation R&I priorities against the backdrop of the MFF, HE and ECF proposals.
