About ACARE

Structure

The General Assembly relies on the work done by experts from all over Europe, which come together in the European Expert Platform (EEP), covering 4 working groups (WGs) and 4 special groups (SGs). The EEP is coordinated by the Extended EEP Board, which includes the chairs of the WGs, SGs, Task Forces, the Member States Group, and the Communication Group.

EEP Board Chairs: Joseph Huysseune (Thales) | Gioia Venturini (Safran)

Member States Group: as interim chairs Ingrid Kernstock (AT-BMK) | Kai Wagner (D-BMWK)

Communication Group: Uwe Moeller (DLR) | Anne-Laure Delot (ONERA)

Supporting Groups:

  • Member States Group: Comprises only Member States representatives to be actively informed and involved.
  • Communication Group: Manages ACARE external visibility and supports the technical groups with deliverables

Key Pillars (Working Groups - Vertical Components) focusing on specific components within the sector:

  • WG 1: Vehicles, Propulsion and Systems (Covers airframe, propulsion, systems, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) issues)
Chairs: Laurent Thomasson (Airbus) | Gary Way (RR)
  • WG 2: Infrastructures, Operations and Services (Covers use from an operator's perspective, including airlines, airports, and ANSPs)
Chairs: Joseph Huysseune (Thales) | Dara Francis Elie (Airbus)
  • WG 3: Aviation as part of a European mobility system (Covers use from the user's perspective, integration with other modes, and cargo/passenger movement)
Chairs: Florian Linke (DLR) | Tom Schouwenburg (Safran)
  • WG 4: Aviation as part of a European energy and fuel system (Covers energy sources like kerosene, SAF, H2, batteries, and the entire supply chain)
